CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Advanced Contemporary
Tuesdays
Contemporary dance emerged in the 20th century, combining elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet, in an attempt to explore the natural energy and emotions of their bodies. Students will learn to use their bodies in a variety of ways, and they focus on breathing, posture, and emotional state to establish a mind-body connection.

Advanced Ballet
Tuesdays
Ballet has been proven to be beneficial to all dance forms. Students will be trained carefully in classical ballet techniques to develop strength, flexibility, control, coordination, and proper body alignment. While dancers will spend their time working on these technical and physical aspects of ballet, they will also be learning to connect steps with the music to bring artistry to their movements.

Pointe
Tuesdays
Students may begin pointe work only at the recommendation of the teacher. Dancing en pointe requires strong technique, muscle control, mental readiness and maturity to avoid injury. As a child is growing, the bones in their feet are ossifying from soft cartilage to strong bone. For this reason, pointe work does not begin until a child has participated in Pre-Pointe and has made it to at least Level III in our program.

Dance 360
Wednesdays
This is a technique class for anyone in Advanced Ballet/Jazz/Contemporary. This will include strength and conditioning, turns and leaps, and will also at times be either a ballet, jazz, or contemporary technique class. This will help students to become an all around strong dancer.

Playhouse Starlettes
Thursdays
Advanced Baton involves all aspects of baton twirling. Strong basic fundamentals, competitive combinations, and advanced tricks will be offered at this level. Promotion to other auxiliary equipment, dance, and flexibility skills are also included in Advanced Baton.
Students are required to wear a BLACK Leotard, BLACK Skirt/Wrap, NUDE Tights, and NUDE Jazz Shoes
Students will need a 3/8 inch Star Line Starlet Baton in the length suggested by sizing chart
